Autism Spectrum Support
About Our Autism Spectrum Support
At TWA Psychiatry, Autism Spectrum Support starts with understanding the full person, not just a diagnosis or set of behaviors. Our team takes time to learn about communication, sensory needs, emotional regulation, daily routines, social experiences, mental health history, physical health, lifestyle, and what support has already been tried.
From there, we create a personalized care plan designed around your needs or your child’s needs. This may include psychiatric evaluation, medication management when appropriate, lab testing when helpful, lifestyle support, care coordination, and ongoing follow-up. Our goal is to help patients and families better understand their needs, feel supported, and build a path toward greater stability, confidence, and day-to-day functioning.
Understanding Each Person’s Needs
Our Autism Spectrum Support is designed to help us better understand how each person experiences daily life, relationships, emotions, routines, and the world around them. At TWA Psychiatry, we look beyond the diagnosis so care can be personalized, respectful, and built around real needs.
- Communication style, social experiences, and relationship challenges.
- Sensory sensitivities, overstimulation, routines, transitions, and daily stressors.
- Emotional regulation, anxiety, frustration, shutdowns, meltdowns, or overwhelm.
- Co-occurring concerns such as ADHD, anxiety, depression, sleep issues, or mood changes.
- Mental health history, previous diagnoses, and past treatment experiences.
- Medications, supplements, therapies, school support, or other care already tried.
- Physical health factors, lifestyle patterns, family history, and lab testing when helpful.
- Goals for home life, school, work, relationships, independence, and overall functioning.
Why Individualized Support Matters
Autism support should not be one-size-fits-all. By understanding the full picture, TWA Psychiatry can create a care plan that may include psychiatric evaluation, medication management when appropriate, lifestyle support, lab testing when helpful, care coordination, and ongoing follow-up. The goal is to help patients and families feel understood, supported, and better equipped for daily life.
